Bio

Amy is a farmer, mother, land steward and student in the arts of seed keeping and bee keeping. With an emphasis on learning about and practicing Biodynamic Agriculture, her farm, Young Roots Farm, is evolving in a way that builds healthy, fertile soils which are the base of a nutrient-dense food system. This intention to be more mindful and in tune with her deeper values helps guide her daily work in tending the land, air, water and all the beings that inhabit this farm organism.

Amy has a bachelor’s degree in Community Development from Portland State University with a background in forestry and ecology. She is also a graduate of the Biodynamic Association’s two-year long Farmer Training Program.

Alongside her work on the farm, Amy cooks up nutritious and delicious food for music concerts at Baker City’s Churchill School Dancehall and co-manages the Baker City Food Co-op.
